Celebrating Learning

The start of the school year has been a whirlwind of activity and engagement for our students. They have enthusiastically participated in 5/6 Sport, trying their hand at either Rounders, Cricket, or Basketball, embracing the spirit of teamwork and competitiveness.

Students have begun writing their own Acknowledgements of Country. This ongoing process was initiated with a whole cohort activity that involved listening to a song and reflecting slowly and deeply on a place to which they feel a personal connection, fostering a sense of respect and appreciation for the land. 

Furthermore, the students have been working collaboratively to construct their class agreements. This task has allowed them to discuss and decide upon the values that are most important to them, outlining how they can respect and protect their learning environment while challenging themselves to excel. 

Additionally, they have engaged in various numeracy games and problem-solving activities, effectively shaking off the summer rust and reigniting their passion for learning.
