Deputy News

What a delight it was to open the open the school gates to our families on Tuesday morning!

As we eagerly embark on the new school year, we extend a warm welcome to all our students and their families. 2024 promises to be an exciting journey of growth, learning, and unforgettable moments.

A special welcome goes out to our Prep students and their families, who are stepping into the world of education for the very first time. We are thrilled to be part of this important chapter in your lives and look forward to watching the children blossom into curious and enthusiastic learners. A special thank you to the Year One parents for hosting our Prep families for a cup of  coffee, a chat and perhaps some tissues to wipe away those 'first day tears'.

Just look at the smiles on these little ones!

Tuesday also saw the beginning of our Buddy Program for 2024. The buddy initiative aims to create a supportive and inclusive school community where the Year Five students become mentors and friends to our Prep students, helping them settle in and navigate their first year of school. It's a wonderful opportunity for cross-year bonding, creating friendships that last a lifetime. Make sure to pop by the office foyer to see the adorable buddy photos! Enjoy the sneak peek...

To our Year Six students, it doesn't seem so long ago you were walking through the school gates for the first time. We are so thrilled to have you lead our school and to begin a year filled with achievements and memories. As you may have heard before, Year Six at St Joseph's will change your life! We congratulate our Year Six captains on receiving their captain badges today. We cannot wait to see you shine in 2024.

Be sure to check out the wellbeing news from our Student Wellbeing leader, Rianne Coldebella, for some additional advice in transitioning back to school.

We are so excited for what the 2024 year holds for us at St Joseph's Primary School.
