Careers and Pathways

The weekly Career Notice on SIMON/PAM is your go-to resource for important updates, opportunities, and key career-related information. Be sure to check it regularly to stay up to date.

There’s plenty happening across the year levels in Careers this term!

Year 9 – Morrisby Program

Our Year 9 students have now begun the Morrisby Careers Program, gaining access to this valuable resource via www.morrisby.com.au. One-on-one interviews with a member of the Careers Team are taking place throughout the term. We encourage parents and carers to explore the results with their child and use this as a springboard for future career conversations.

Year 10 – Work Placement Preparation

Preparation for Year 10 Work Placement is well underway. Our final in-school preparation session is scheduled for Tuesday 13 May (Lesson 1), where students will be introduced to the Work Placement Record Booklet and complete essential tasks, including Safe@Work Certificates and the Induction Handbook, which are due by Friday 23 May.

Parents and carers are encouraged to check in with their Year 10 student to see if a placement has been secured, and to offer support where needed.

Please note:

  • Students undertaking placements in building, construction, or related trades will need to obtain a White Card.
  • Placements involving contact with animals require a Working With Animals Form, available from the Careers Office.

Helpful resources and reminders are provided in the weekly Career Notice on SIMON and in the Year 10 Careers Class Resources.

Year 11 – Careers Lesson & TIS

Year 11 students will take part in a Careers lesson during the week beginning 5 May. They will also attend the Tertiary Information Session (TIS) on Wednesday 14 May (Lessons 4 & 5), an important event as they begin considering post-school pathways.

Year 12 – Book Your Careers Appointment

All Year 12s are encouraged to book a Careers Appointment via the link on Simon as soon as possible. Upcoming events include:

  • Tertiary Information Session (TIS)Wednesday 14 May
  • Alumni Mentor BreakfastWednesday 4 June
