Muffins for Mums and Special Guardians/Friends – This Friday!

A reminder that we’re looking forward to welcoming our mums, special guardians, and friends this Friday, 16 May at 8:30am. Join us in the Library for a hot drink and a muffin, followed by a chance to spend time in the classroom with your child. We hope to see you there!

Education Week Reminder – Open Morning

Education Week is next week, running from Monday 19 May to Friday 23 May, and the theme this year is “Celebration of Cultures.”

As part of our celebrations, we’re holding an Open Morning on Wednesday the 21st of May from 9:00am to 11:00am. Families are invited to drop in and see teaching and learning in action across the school.

Shout Out to Our Neighbours

A big thank you to Heathmont Secondary College for installing a new directional sign on the corner of Hardy Crescent and Marlborough Road. This gesture reflects the strengthening partnership between our schools, and we’re excited about the ongoing opportunities we can create together for our students.

Library Upgrade

Thanks to all of you and Eastland for our Shop for Your Schools competition win, we’ve wasted no time putting our prize to good use! Our library has received a fresh injection of new shelving, comfortable furniture, and award-winning books from the CBCA collection.

The updated space is already proving to be a hit, with students enjoying it both during class library sessions and at break times for quiet reading and board game play.

Small Garden Grant

Some more exciting news to share is that our school has been successful in our application for the Growing Together Small Grant. We’ve received $1,200 to help build and refresh our edible garden.

This grant will support Tanya and the Garden Club as they continue to create a space where students can learn hands-on about sustainability, food, and gardening. Stay tuned for updates as the project takes shape later this year.

Education Support Day – Thank You, ES Team!

This Friday, we celebrate Education Support Day, a moment to recognise and thank our incredible Education Support staff.

We are incredibly fortunate to have a dedicated, caring, and ever-patient Education Support team who contribute so much to the life of our school. Whether working directly with students to provide behavioural, academic, and emotional support, managing key administrative responsibilities, supporting families, ensuring the financial and operations of the school run smoothly — their impact is both wide-reaching and deeply valued.

If you get a chance this week, please take a moment to stop by, say thank you, or write a quick note to any of our ES staff. They work tirelessly to support both students and staff so that every day at school is a positive one.

Working Bee – Saturday 17 May, 1:30–4:30pm

Our next Working Bee will be held on Saturday 17 May from 1:30pm–4:30pm, and we’d love your help!

This time, we’ll be:

  • Installing sleepers to replace old garden edging
  • Preparing for and/or painting selected areas
  • Completing some general clean-up tasks around the school

Many hands make light work.

Warmly,

Tim Mulhall
