New Whole-School Acknowledgement
It was wonderful to see so many students proudly wearing their pyjamas to school as part of our last whole school celebration! These special days are not just fun – they’re a powerful way to recognise the positive choices our students are making every day.
After consulting with staff, student leaders and looking at school data, we’re excited to announce our new whole-school acknowledgement focus, that comes under our school value of ‘Responsibility: Right Place, Right Time.
This focus helps students understand what positive behaviour looks like, sounds like and feels like in different settings across the school – from the classroom to the yard, to the hallway, toilets, and everywhere in between.
Being in the right place at the right time means:
- Making great choices about where to be so we can learn, play and connect with others
- Using spaces in ways that help everyone feel safe, included and ready to do their best
- Using our time in ways that are positive, purposeful and help us reach our goals
This is also relevant during outside play, where we are supporting students to engage in safe, positive and cooperative play with their peers, across different areas and for a range of activities.
When students are demonstrating this behaviour, they are awarded a token, which they trade in at the office for a sticker to add to the whole-school display. We’re working toward target of 500 stickers, and once our goal is reached, we’ll celebrate with another fun and rewarding whole-school celebration.
Thanks for your continued support in encouraging these positive behaviours – we’re looking forward to seeing students grow not only in responsibility, but also in respect and courage as we work towards our goal.
