Maths  & Inquiry

We are beginning our unit on 2D shapes and the students are actively exploring 2D shapes by using concrete materials such as pattern blocks to create and classify different quadrilaterals. Through hands-on activities, students investigate the properties of 2D shapes—such as the number of sides, angles, and symmetry—and apply this knowledge to identify shapes including rectangles, squares, rhombuses, and trapeziums.

In Inquiry, we have been learning about the Water Cycle and conducted a 'Cloud in a Jar' experiment. We also had fun with the 'Investigating Fresh and Salt Water' experiment.

Informative Writing

Students have proudly published their informative reports on the Great Barrier Reef, showcasing their ability to research and present key facts using clear and engaging language. They are now applying these skills to a new topic of their choice - an animal or a country -and are enthusiastically gathering facts from reliable sources. As they research, students are learning to identify the most important and relevant information, while refining their writing to communicate clearly and effectively. It’s wonderful to see their curiosity and independence shine through in their work!

Have a great week!

Kind regards,
