Staff in the Spotlight

With so many staff at Wantirna College, we would like to give our school community the opportunity to get to know them in a fun way. Each week we will be spotlighting a new staff member and sharing with you all sorts of fun and interesting stories about who they are and most importantly, why they became a teacher and what they love most about teaching!

This week we are spotlighting Robert Liang.

Robert has joined the Science team this year and is teaching Physics to our senior students. Welcome Robert!

How long have you been teaching?

4 years

What school/university or organisation have you come from?

Marist-Sion College, Warragal

Why did you decide to become a teacher?

I like working with kids. I also like that I can spend school holidays with my kid.

What do you love most about teaching?

To inspire students and show them how amazing they can be.

What are three things you would like your students to know about you?

I love sports, I support the Hawks. I like music, I play violin. My bench push is 80kg.

Where's your favourite holiday destination?

Anywhere in Queensland

What TV show/series did you last binge watch?

Little Lunch (my daughter's favourite)

If you could have 3 people for dinner (dead or alive) who would they be and why?

Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking. I would like to see them debate each other as they have differing points of view, but this what makes Physics so great and helps us learn.
