Early Learning Leadership Forum

The Department of Education, Bayside Peninsula Area, facilitated the Early Learning Leadership Forum, with the intent of bringing the sector together to connect with peers, reflect on the role of leadership, and to engage in updates in partnership with the department.

Pedagogy Leader, Janine Bird, from Glen Education was invited to participate in a panel discussion that highlighted the ways Glen Education are supporting young people to take up a career in early childhood education, how we support educators to upskill, and how our partnership with universities and TAFEs are cultivating enhanced opportunities to ‘grow our own’ educators, through on the job traineeships, coaching and mentoring.

Feedback from Service Directors and Area Managers, were inspired to consider the ways they too could partner with school industry professionals to attract more people to Early Childhood Education as a career through traineeships and high-quality early learning experiences. We appreciated the chance to share what we do and the impact it is having on our workforce and the broader sector

City Of Kingston Council’s Community Awards

Glen Education were nominated for the 2025 Kingston Council’s Community Group of Year Award. This award provides an opportunity to celebrate the outstanding contributions that organisations in Kingston make towards industry, community, and society. We were nominated by a past parent, who also worked in partnership with us in 2024, through Yooralla. The nomination highlighted the nurturing environment created by the dedicated team of educators at the Glen North Cheltenham Kindergarten, and the exceptional education and care provided to each child and their family. The award ceremony was held on 21 May at the Kingston Arts Centre. The selection panel consisted of the Mayor and Councillors, who reviewed the nominations against the assessment criteria. We were one of 10 nominees, and while we did not win, it was an honour to be recognised alongside other inspirational community groups in Kingston. Congratulations to ‘It's okay, not to be okay.’ who were a worthy winner of the award.

Book Launch, The Thinking Child: Transformative Approaches from Expert Authors.

Glen Education proudly hosted an evening for families and educators to celebrate the launch of two books “Developing Executive Functioning in the Early Years” by Dr. Rosalyn Muir and “The Power of Play” by Lili-Ann Kriegler.

Both authors shared insight into their research, through engaging and interactive presentations. The evening concluded with an opportunity to meet both Rosalyn and Lili-Ann and a book signing. Lili-Ann said "Writing books is more about sharing your knowledge and experience. It’s so great when they get into the hands of educators. We’d be delighted to engage with your educators again."

We are grateful for the chance to connect, learn, and grow together as a community of learners.
