Year 10 Environmental Science Seal and Dolphin Swim Excursion Friday 13th October.

On Friday the 13th of October, myself and my whole environmental class travelled down to

Queenscliff to go swim with dolphins, seal, and many other amazing sea animals. Before we could go into the water, we first had to get all of our equipment, such as, wetsuits, snorkel masks, and our flippers. Once we got all of the done, we got to explore were all the male seals like to hang out.

Though there were many big male seals, there was also lots of baby seals that loved to play. Though it was very rough and hard to swim it was still so much fun to dive under and see all the wide life that lived beneath us. Then we got back onto the boat and travelled to our next residence, which was a small marine park. It was super cool to see more seals and all the coral underneath. However sadly we didn’t see any dolphins it was still such a great experience that we will get to hold for the rest of our lives.

Last Friday, our Environmental Science class went down to Queenscliff to do a dolphin and seal swim. We all got geared up with our wetsuits, snorkels and flippers, and hopped onto the boat. We headed out to where all the seals hang out and jumped off the boat into the water. We got to swim close to where the seals were, some of them jumping off and swimming all around us. We even saw a stingray swimming along below us. The weather was quite rough which made it a challenge to swim around but it didn’t take away from the experience. We also visited this little marine park where a bunch of seagulls surrounded it, to go snorkelling there. It was a lot calmer and we were able to see all the different corals and fish around the area. There was also a seal who had come over and laid out on the rocks. We didn’t manage to see any dolphins but overall, it was such an amazing day and experience!
