This week saw the start of our Year 6 Music program, with 42 students from our feeder primary schools coming to BHS for the first time, meeting teachers and starting work on learning an instrument. It has been wonderful to have the chance to get to know parents, younger siblings and of course our 2024 music cohort, a wonderful enthusiastic group of students, who are going to add so much to our school community.
Come along to the showcase concert in the PAC on Tuesday 21st November, and enjoy the fabulous energy of this great bunch!
Tour Band rehearsals have begun for our Primary Schools Music Tour, with our students taking their talents out to local primary schools in early December. Many thanks to Mrs Moffatt for working to prepare an entertaining program, and to Mrs Linton for organising the tour.
Ensemble Night is fast approaching, with all ensemble program students performing in small groups for family and friends on Thursday November 9th at 7pm in the PAC. This event forms part of our Instrumental Music CAT for Term 4.
Congratulations to Holly Dunn of 12N, who is about to complete her final year in the Accelerando Program at the Melbourne Recital Centre. Holly will perform at the program concert on December 2nd, and we are so proud of her achievements, and for her contribution to music at BHS over the past 6 years. Get along to the concert if you are in Melbourne on December 2nd!
