We completed the upgrade of the basketball court at the Batesford Campus recently. We are hoping to upgrade the basketball court at the Rollins Campus which is more expensive because of the size as soon as possible. We have had it quoted and all we need now is the extra funds!
We are hoping that our Colour Explosion day in November will be a huge success so we can move forward. All funds raised on this day will go straight towards this project. Please support this fundraiser as much as you can so we can get moving.
Many thanks to all parents and Guardians for organising their child/children to have a hat for the summer period. Great job everyone. Just a reminder that hats stay at school so they dont become misplaced.
If you need to collect your child during the day please send a note to the office on the day stating the time you wish to collect your child. At 9.00am each day we collate a list of students needing to be collected and send this list to the grade teacher. This helps to prevent interrupotions over the phone or microphone which can interrupt the learning time in the classrooms.
If your family is moving out of our area or your child will be attending another school in 2024, could you please contact the office and let us know as soon as possible. We have a waiting list of families wanted to enrol in our school.
We regularly review all school policies. At the last school council meeting we reviwed the updated version of the Rollins Discipline policy. School Council endorsed this policy and a copy will be distributed to all parents. A copy will be placed on our school website for continued reference by parents/guardians.
Every term I receive an update from the Barwon Region with a list of the students with the highest absence data in our school. At the end of the year I receive an additional list with students they consider are "At Risk" of disengagement.
Of course, there are times when your child is unwell that they need to be at home and we encourage you to keep a sick child at home so they can recover quickly and not spread an infection. Please ensure you list this on COMPASS so it is not an unexplained absence on the data.
Please be aware that the region may contact you for additional information if your child has had a large number of absences. We endevour to ensure your child is receiving the maximum exposure to all learning opportunities.
Please note that Wednesday 25th October is Geelong Cup Day which is a scheduled public holiday in the City Of Greater Geelong. It is important to be aware that as a school we do not have any choice in this matter and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Have a great week everyone
Jenny
