Principal's News

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to Term 4. I trust the break provided some time to spend with the kids without the regular routines that usually govern our lives.

Fourth term is always a busy one with lots of camps and excursions on the horizon as the better weather arrives.

We also have a major INCURSION this term with the music/dance group Stomp spending a number of days with us in October /November. This visit will culminate in a performance to which parents are all invited to attend.

Transition activities at both ends of the school, Mission Fete, the Preps swimming program, inter school sports etc etc.

Parents should please note that we do have a planned school closure on Monday November 6th for Report Writing and the Public holiday for the Melbourne Cup on the 7th of November coming up.

The last day of classes for the children will be Friday December 15th.

I hope the term is a great one for all of us.

GRANDPARENTS DAY This Friday we are celebrating our annual “Grandparents Day” here at school. As in previous years Grandmas and Grandpas are invited to visit the school from 1:00 p.m. on Friday. They will be escorted to the classrooms of their grandchildren who will then show them the work they are doing and take a tour of the school, where we have displayed lots of beautiful artwork.

Lunch will be a picnic lunch so Nan and Pa will need to bring something to eat and they might even have something special to share!

PARENTING PRIMARY AGED CHILDREN A big thank you to our Well Being leader, Julie Leonard who organised for the visit of Helen Diamond from Catholic Care Family Services during the last week of third term. Both of Helen’s sessions were well supported by our community as she presented a workshop entitled “Living With Primary Aged Children” giving all of us the chance to share, listen and learn from each other and Helen’s long professional experience. I know Julie has included a contact for Helen on today’s newsletter and a quick parenting tip as well.
