Welcome to Term Four everyone. Can you believe it? Where has the year gone? I trust you all had a relaxing and wonderful holiday break. Mr Joyce enjoyed seeing Collingwood take out the AFL Grand Final!

As we embark on the final term of the 2023 school year, we have a busy and exciting term ahead. In the upcoming weeks we have our Foundation students heading to Big Goose for an excursion and our Year 1 students visiting McClelland Sculpture Park. Later this term we have our Year 4 camp and then we start to prepare for Christmas celebrations and Year 6 Graduation.

There have been some staffing changes I wanted to bring to your attention. Ben Bronnum accepted a classroom teacher position at a school closer to his home and left Banyan Fields at the end of week 1. PE will be taken over by Cameron Samy (Monday-Thursday) and Jarryd Bendall on a Friday. Our Year 2 teacher, Phil Winter, will be going on family leave from the start of week 4. He will be replaced by Mitchell Lehner. We wish Phil and his family all the best for a safe arrival of their new baby.

Finally, I wanted to thank all the students and their families for the AMAZING work you have done fundraising for our Colour Run. The Principal team (Ricky & Jacqui) have loved getting slimed by the students… we can’t wait for when we can get them back! After much consideration due to staff shortages, we have rescheduled the colour fun run to Friday the 20th October. We hope to see many families on Friday afternoon supporting their children complete the colour run.

Lunch clubs!

Over the past week we have started mat/lunch clubs outside for all our students! This is run by our lovely ES staff members and our year 5 & 6 student leaders. It has been great to see so many students already enjoying the clubs.

Currently we have the following clubs running:

Dinosaurs and Soldiers: Located outside the 3B/3S classrooms.

Board Games and Uno: Located outside the 3B/3S classrooms.

Cars/Puzzles (for juniors): Positioned outside the foundation building.

Junior Blocks: Also, outside the foundation building.

Lego: Look for it outside the digital tech room.

Drawing/Chalk: Head to the outside area near the Art room.

Loom Bands: Head to the outside area near the Art room.

If you have any suggestions or ideas, please see Miss Bower.
