Year 9 & 10

I can’t believe it’s already week 4! What a term it has been. We had our Spring Music Concert on the 10th of October, and it was a true joy to see our students perform to an audience of their families and peers. We had a range of performances from students from all year levels and the work that the students had put into their songs was very clear.

I’m sure that many of you were able to attend the 60th Anniversary celebration on Sunday. This event has been a highlight of my time at the college. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with our current college community, while inviting past students and staff back to the college to celebrate a 60-year history.

On Tuesday October 23rd, Year 9 students will be participating in Real Industry Job Interviews (RIJI). This is an exciting opportunity for our students to get some real-world experience around the employment process.

RIJI is a work readiness program that assists students in developing good job search, resume writing and interviewing skills. The program has been delivered in Term 3 and concludes in a face-to-face interview with a local volunteer employer during a RIJI event hosted at the college.

In previous newsletters, I have advertised that Year 9s could apply for a senior scholarship that would give them some financial support from Years 10 and 11 with a $200.00 contribution from the college and a $300 contribution in year 12. It is with great pride that I announce the 2024scholarship recipients below:

Leadership – Jed Garcia

Community – Tracey Phan

Sports – Keeley Bartlett and Kerry Phillipou

Academic – Jessica Mai, Eva Vasilev, Donika Zoupani and Renae Konidaris
