Visual Arts

Artists of the Month

Congratulations to our Artists of the Month, Holly S. and Chloe H, both from Year 2.

Holly produced an amazing two-layer print using the gelli printing plates and a range of real and artificial leaves to achieve a rainforest background. She also painted the most joyful little frog in her rainforest, inspired by the Book Week shortlisted book 'Snap!'.

Chloe created a wonderful 'apple bowl' by forming a pinch pot with clay, then forming it into the shape of an apple and using the 'scratch and attach' method to add on a leaf. She painted on the underglaze and glaze in beautiful, even layers to finish it off to perfection.

Year 1 & 2

The Year 1 & 2 students have been designing, planning and constructing their own paper bag puppets in Visual Arts. They also have been reflecting on the Design Process and how they were able to use their plan and adapt it to create a better final result.

Performing Arts

Year 3 & 4

The Year 3 & 4 students have been learning about playing, composing and performing tunes with tuned percussion instruments such as xylophones, metalophones and glockenspiels. They also had the opportunity to use the Boomwhackers - large colourful tubes which produce specific notes when hit on the floor, allowing a group of students to produce a tune together by hitting each note at the right time.
