Rugby Tour 2023

On Sunday 3 September we jumped on the busses and hit the road to Perth. After a long trip, we arrived in Perth to join in with the Beasts Rugby Academy training. The Beasts are a development squad for some of the best Rugby players in WA, so it was a physically demanding session. One of the drills included tackling about 10 tackle bags 5 metres apart from each other. After our intense training, we were given sausages and Tyce was crowned 'beast of the day.'

Once we arrived at camp and set up our beds we headed down to the courts for a quick basketball tournament. After we finished our last games, we grabbed some dinner and all went to bed, ready for our match the next day. In the morning we arose to do some ziplining and a ropes course, in the pouring rain. After the activities were wrapped up we headed down to the DFO for some shopping and subway to fuel up for our game against Hale College.

The Years Seven to Eight won against Hale, and Archie was given the game ball for best on ground. After watching our mates win, it was time for the Year Nines to walk onto the field. Hale started the game strong by scoring 5 trys in the first half. We didn’t drop our heads, and came back and scored a few. In the end we couldn’t quite reach their score and sadly lost the game.
