Great Southern Griffins - Grand Finals Wrap-up

Congratulations to all the Griffins Sporting teams that participated in Grand Finals for 2023.

Hockey

Ten, Eleven, Twelve Girls – Griffins Red vs Griffins Blue

The senior girl’s hockey final was a nail-biting all-Griffins affair, with Griffins Red winning with seconds to go in the second half of extra time.  Special congratulations to Pippa Wilson for winning her team’s Fairest and Best Award, Player of the Match for the Grand Final and Fairest and Best for the entire Ten, Eleven and Twelve Competition. Incredible effort Pippa.

Ten, Eleven, Twelve Boys – Griffins vs Mt Barker

In another gripping final, Griffins defeated Mt Barker 6-4. It was 2-2 at the end of full time and extra time with Griffins winning the penalty shootout 4-2.  Congratulations to Hamish Medway, who was awarded Player of the Match for the Grand Final, and to Kaden Patterson, who was Runner Up Fairest and Best for the Association.

Seven, Eight, Nine Girls - Griffins Blue vs Spencer Park

Unfortunately, Griffins lost to Spencer Park 4-0 in the Grand Final.  This team played their hearts out at every match this season and the Grand Final was no different, with everyone giving their all.  Special thanks to Bo Anning from Year 6 who helped fill the team every week and contributed greatly.
