1 Million Children Praying the Rosary

On Wednesday 18 October students gathered in their classrooms and Pastoral Academic  groups to be a part of the worldwide event, 1 Million Children Praying the Rosary.

This prayer initiative by 'Aid to the Church in Need' aims to rekindle faith in the power of prayer. The worldwide campaign is an invitation to remember the words of Our Lady of Fatima that the childlike and trusting prayer of the rosary can truly change the world, defeat evil and bring peace.

First Holy Communion - Sunday 26th November, 9.30 am

First Holy Communion will be held on Sunday 26th November. Families of eligible students in Year 3 or above who have made their First Reconciliation are eligible.

Children in Year 3 at St Philomena's will learn about Holy Communion in their regular Religious Education lessons. Any other children will need to have classes at the Parish Centre. Please phone the Parish Office to make arrangements for these classes.

Formal enrolment in the programme will be during Masses on the weekend of 21st and 22nd October. You may attend whichever Mass you prefer: Saturday at 6pm or Sunday at 9.30am.

The Rehearsal session will be Thursday 9th November, 6.30pm at the church.

If your child is unable to attend one of these important sessions, please ring the Parish Office to make other arrangements.

There will also be a parents-only information session 6.30pm on Thursday 26th October at the church.

The second Parent session will be combined with the Rehearsal session on 9th November, 6.30pm at the church.

It is a requirement of formation that one parent attends each of these sessions.

If you are unable to attend at these times, please contact the Parish Office to make other arrangements.

If you wish to enrol your child for First Holy Communion please complete the attached form and bring to one of the Enrolment Masses.

I thank you in advance for bringing your children to the Church and may you continue to be the first teachers of faith to them.
