Hello, from teachers and students.

Hello! from 4/5 WP and Ms. Danielle Wadley and Ms Cos Perley.

Well it has been a very busy term! Only a few more days left to go.

In the last few weeks we have been learning about fractions. In particular, we have focused on putting fractions on a number line to compare their size and order. Explored equivalent fractions and making sure we understand the fractions must be equal parts.

To show Miss Wadley what we had learnt, we made a fraction poster on one of our choice, showing everything we know about it.

Here is some that students created:

All term we have focused on non-fiction in reading and writing. We have drafted, edited and published explanation texts, information reports and finished the term writing newspaper articles.

We have learnt a lot about the features of non-fiction pieces including headings, subheadings, captions, photographs, contents, glossaries, sidebars... and the list goes on!

Here is some of our published newspaper articles. We decided to focus on fairy tale characters, giving them a slight twist!

Lucky last to finish off, here are some happy snaps from the terms inquiry. We have focused on chemical science. Looking at the different states of matter (solid, liquids and gases) as well as reversible and irreversible changes when heat is applied.

Bouncy Eggs

Making ice-cream in a bag!

Mixing milk, detergent and food colouring!

And saving the best until last, making pancakes!

Enjoy and have a great holiday! :)
