Sports Report from Mr Flower
Last week, three of our senior boys went to compete in the Polding athletics carnival in Newcastle. This carnival encompasses athletes from hundreds of Catholic schools stretching south from Tweed Heads, out west to Dubbo and all the way to Sydney. All three boys did exceptionally well and should be proud of themselves and their results! Particular mention to Charlie who finished 8th in his shotput competition with a throw of almost 9 metres!
Some reflections from the boys include:
"I really enjoyed the experience and i had lots of fun" - Lawson
"The competition was very tough, but i am grateful i got to go and compete"- Hank
"A big thankyou to my parents for taking me and i really enjoyed myself"- Charlie
Great work boys!
Northern Cluster Soccer Gala Day ~ Thursday 25th September
We have had 40 Stage 2 and Stage 3 students respond to attend the Soccer Gala Day in Inverell.
The bus will depart from our school bus stop area at 6.45am. Please be there by 6.30am to get your child's name marked off. The bus will depart Inverell at approx. 2.00pm, and arrive at approx. 3.50pm at St Joseph's school. A message will be sent to families as the bus gets closer to Tenterfield so a more exact arrival time can be given. If families would like to be picked up and or dropped off at Sandy Flat (fire shed), please let the front office know.
Students are reminded to wear their school sports uniform including their school hat. Although a canteen will be running, time is limited between games so please ensure your child has water and plenty of food packed for the day. It can be cold in Inverell so ensure your child is ready for all seasons; Jumpers and Sunscreen!
