Year 7 Launchbox Program

Our Year 7 students have completed the RASCube Launchbox program, exploring space science and coding through hands-on satellite design. Through this, they have developed their own space companies and have been required to develop a marketing strategy with a press release, which can be found below from team COSMOS:

Yarrabing students launch a satellite into space!

COSMOS (a team of Year 7 students from Yarrabing  Secondary College) are getting ready to launch their very own satellite, otherwise known as a RASCube into space. The team consists of 5 students whose company’s name is COSMOS. Later this year, we will be launching the satellite into space.

Our mission intends to monitor bushfires and ocean temperatures using the satellite we  will built. COSMOS has been working for 8 weeks to build the satellite. While making the satellite, we have been learning about how satellites make a difference to the world or country and learning how to prepare it for launching.

"Our satellite might be small but our dreams are big" said team member Manal. "We really want the new generation to be inspired by our work".

COSMOS’s goal is to inspire young people to explore space and science.
