R U Ok? Day a reminder to check in
Last Thursday, marked a very important day which was R U OK? Day. It’s a national reminder of the importance of checking in with those around us. Whether at school, home, or anywhere else, it's vital to remember that while we all have good days, we also face challenges and we never truly know what someone else might be going through.
At St John's, our Social and Emotional Learning curriculum supports students with understanding their emotions, recognising body cues, and learning how to self-regulate.
Our students are learning that all feelings are valid, and while some emotions pass on their own, others may require support and that’s okay.
We encourage everyone in our community to keep checking in with one another and to reach out if you ever need help.
Above is a photo of our staff showing their support for this meaningful day and leaning into what it truly represents being there for one another.
If you’d like any R U OK? Day resources to use at home or share with others, please let us know, we’d be happy to help.
