Mano Art Show – Wednesday, 10th September:

Our Art Show is next week with all students and staff working tirelessly to ensure a fabulous show. Information regarding our Art Show has been provided through our various communication platforms (newsletter, Compass and Seesaw). We look forward to showcasing the incredible art work our students produce! A huge shout out to Mrs Illett and Mrs King for their coordination of the Art Show.

R U OK Day:

Next Thursday (11th September) is R U OK Day. Students are encouraged to wear a splash of yellow to symbolise optimism, joy, happiness and friendship. The theme for this year is: “I am here to hear”. Students at Manifold Heights Primary School will participate in activities that:

raise awareness of the support and help available for people who may be struggling
provides strategies to reach out to someone struggling
help students begin a conversation to connect with someone who may be struggling

Term 3 Social Service Activity:

We are pleased to inform you that our Term 3 Social Service activity has been finalised by our Junior School Council.

Date: Friday, 19th September

Charity: Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

Donation: Gold coin

Dress: Sports Colours

Students and staff are invited to come to school dressed in their Sports Colours of choice (footy colours, soccer colours, basketball colours, netball colours etc). Further information regarding the day is included in this edition of the newsletter. Once again, congratulations to our Junior School Council for their leadership across our school.

Teacher Professional Learning – the teaching of Literacy:

This week, our staff engaged in another professional learning session to further develop our capacity to accommodate all learners in English (literacy). Led by Mrs Geary, the session focussed on further developing the ‘Mano English Block’. Teachers explored different elements of our English block, including the ‘Daily Review’, enhancing the reading fluency of students and comprehension. Mrs Geary also shared with staff two new assessment tools that will be included in our assessment schedule for 2026, specifically to collect data on our students spelling progress and their reading comprehension. Teachers also worked collaboratively to align their ‘work programs’ to the new ‘English Block’ model.

School Pride – Uniform:

I again remind families to please ensure your child/ren is wearing the correct uniform at all times. We have a uniform policy that clearly outlines our expectations. We have a huge amount of ‘Lost Property’ (lost uniforms), so please check this next time you visit the school.

Father’s Day:

Happy Father’s Day to all our dads for Sunday. We hope you are all spoilt and get to spend some quality time with your loved ones. Thank you to our wonderful Parents and Friends Committee and our group of volunteers for providing the Father’s Day stall for our students.
