Year 1/2
In maths, students have been learning about shape transformation. We have learnt 3 ways to transform a shape; by flipping, sliding and turning. Students have used pattern blocks to model the different shape transformation, shown shape transformation using tangrams and identified the transformation of a given shape. Students have concluded their unit on chance and can more confidently classify chance events as impossible, unlikely, likely or certain.
Over the next few weeks, students will be learning about and writing different styles of poetry. This week are focusing on acrostic, shape, and limerick poems. Students have particularly enjoyed writing limericks, using their rhyming skills to write some clever and funny poems.
