Performing Arts & Music

The Foundation, Grade 1 and Grade 2 students have continued to explore the world of dance. We have learnt different styles of dance and have tried a number of different moves. Some students enjoyed sharing their own movements that they knew from different dance styles. We had some wonderful Irish dancing, Greek dancing, break dancing and ballet dancing!

The students all enjoyed learning a few key steps from different styles. They learnt the shuffle, a tap dancing step. They learnt a step ball-change and the grape vine, both jazz dance steps. They also learnt to stand in first and second position in ballet and do a plie.

The students have continued to enjoy working in groups, choreographing their own little dances and have begun practising their Christmas Concert performances.
