Principal's Report
Dear Parents,
I am amazed by the opportunities provided to students at Ballarat North across the year levels!
Here are just some of the events over the past weeks. Year 4 students attended their camp at Halls Gap, which was enjoyed by all. The photos of students stepping outside their comfort zone on the high-ropes course were impressive and of course the visit to the ice-cream shop was popular. Our school band performed at the Academy of Teaching & Leadership and had the group of principals rocking!
Our Year 5/6 students attended the Eureka Centre as part of their learning on civics, citizenship and democracy. The Camp Quality Car Show was also popular, with many students excited to tell me about the cars and the giveaways they received. We have had visits from Midlands Kinder students and our Year 1 and Year 2 students participated in their cross-country event!
Last week we had our first delivery of fruit from Foodbank as part of the Breakfast Club Program. Fresh fruit is being supplied to classrooms and has been very popular with students. The fruit snack assists concentration, health and social connections within classrooms.
School Council has set up two working parties: one for school-home communication and one for Breakfast Club. The idea behind the working parties is to provide feedback to the school, allow parents to share their ideas in these two areas and potentially assist in projects. Please contact me if you are interested in joining one of the working parties.
Thanks to Class FW who presented a celebration of their learning at assembly last week.
Have a great week and enjoy the sunshine!
