P-2:

We are excited that Term 4 has begun on a high note, with students diving back into their class with enthusiasm. This term, they are revisiting the key concepts of HOLM NMF (Handshape, Orientation, Location, Movement, Non-Manual Features), which are the building blocks in Auslan.

The main focus for Term 4 is on Handshapes, a core element of the language.

Students will be expanding their knowledge from Term 3, where they learned about list buoys, and now they will apply that understanding to a new topic, helping them develop stronger communication skills in a fresh and engaging way.

During Friday’s Assembly was a special highlight, as we witnessed the Year 2 students from 1/2D and 1/2E deliver a strong performance of the national anthem.

Their dedication has helped them reach high, they did a fantastic job representing their classes. A big congratulations to all the students involved, and we look forward to seeing more amazing performances throughout the term. Here's to a productive and rewarding Term 4!

Yr 7:

We’re thrilled to report that Term 4 has started with great energy and excitement! Our students have begun delving into Semester 2 Unit 2, where they’ll be engaging with the fun and creative topic, "My Weird Family." This unit challenges them to apply their knowledge of list buoys, family signs, Size and Shape Specifiers (SASS), and Depicting Signs (DS). Through these concepts, students will bring their unique and imaginative family stories to life, allowing for a blend of creativity and language skills.

We wish all the students the best of luck as they embark on this new unit of work, and we can't wait to see their progress. We’re especially excited about the videos they will be creating, where we’ll get to witness their “weird families” come to life through signing! It’s sure to be a fun and rewarding experience for everyone involved!

Thanks,
