Classroom News/Celebrations

Work samples and highlights from our super talented students this past fortnight

Grade 2 - We have been working hard in maths at our partitioning skills by breaking up numbers. For example, 243=200+40+3. In our second week, we have been focussing on using different units of measurement and estimating the length of objects. In writing, we wrote recounts about our wonderful holidays! We have also begun our oral language group which have already begun to develop our fluency and confidence to talk in front of others. A great start to our final term together in Grade 2!

Grade 5 - Biographics

Grade 3/4 - We have had a wonderful start to Term 4!

In Maths we learnt about symmetry and created some amazing rotational symmetry art. Grade 3/4A and 3/4C have some of their art pieces on show in the photos.

In Literacy we have been exploring different types of poetry and have had lots of fun getting creative and writing acrostic, haiku and cinquain poems. There are some great examples of these from 3/4B and Batesford in the photos.

Prep - This week in Maths we have been focussing on partitioning.

Grade 6 - As part of 5/6 sport, the Grade 6s are participating in a European Handball competition over the next few weeks, with four teams competing in a round robin to determine a champion. The students did a great job on Monday!
