As you are aware St Michael's Parish School, Ashburton currently partners with Essential Assessment to complement student learning in Numeracy and Literacy. As part of this initiative, we are able to provide you access to the Essential Assessment parent platform.
The Essential Assessment parent platform allows our school to share your child's progress as we work through each topic of their learning throughout the year. This information provides a summary of the specific Numeracy and Literacy skills that we are currently developing with your child and also provides practical examples of these skills to assist with their continued learning.
Next week, students will be partaking in a number of assessments to gauge their understandings of concepts taught this year.
After these assessments have been completed, teachers will send home a letter explaining how to access :
Areas of success
This provides a summary of what your child currently understands within this topic of learning.
Future focus areas
This provides a summary of what we are currently working on with your child within this topic of learning.
Areas of growth

Assigned My Numeracy and My Literacy activities

Your child's teacher may set an expiry date for these summaries.
We look forward to continuing to develop your child's Numeracy and Literacy skills through using this and other initiatives at our school.
Look out for the letter with the QR code in weeks 4 and 5.
The provider we use to create and share our reports, nForma, are updating their services. As a result, the current parent portal used to access reports is discontinued as of 20/09/2024.
The new method to access your child’s reports will need to be accessed via the new app ‘nForma for Parents’. Please be sure to follow the instructions on the attachment below to download and login into the app. When setting up and logging in, please use the email address that was previously used on the existing parent portal. You will be able to access previous student reports on the new portal.
There is troubleshooting and FAQs in the attached document to help support any issues you may encounter. Failing this, please contact Eloise Ellis or Jordan Lo Ricco for assistance.
