Analysing :We look closely at a text and think about the author's choices.

Critiquing : When we critique we say what we liked or disliked about a test.

Students practice reading a text at home and thinking about whether they like or dislike the book.

Students give their opinion on pictures or word choices.

Examples:

I like this picture because it was funny.

I like this word “hobbled” because I can picture the lady limping.
