Britton Shield CricketÂ
The annual Britton Shield cricket competition, held last Friday, marked the final Britton Shield event of the year, showcasing an impressive showdown between Clayfield College and Ipswich Junior Grammar School. The day unfolded with a powerful display of cricketing skills, packed with electrifying moments—from stunning catches to boundary-smashing hits that kept spectators on the edge of their seats.Â

The camaraderie and competitive spirit between the two schools were evident, creating an atmosphere as bright as the achievements on the field. Among the highlights was the U10 Green team, who capped off their season with an incredible victory, securing the U10 trophy and adding to the pride of Clayfield College. The event was not only a thrilling experience for the athletes but also a celebration of teamwork and resilience.Â

Andrews Cup Gymnastics: Grace, Precision, and Top Performances
On Tuesday 5 November the Andrews Cup gymnastics competition at Somerville House saw athletes performing stunning routines that demonstrated their strength, balance, and skill. With parents supporting from the stands, gymnasts took to the floor, beam, vault, and bars, displaying moves that spoke to months of training and outstanding athletic precision.Â

Clayfield College's gymnasts shone throughout the competition, and their hard work culminated in several top three finishes. The C2 and D2 teams achieved a remarkable 2nd place, while the D1 team claimed a strong 3rd place. The event concluded with a presentation ceremony, celebrating the athletes’ determination and the stellar routines they delivered. Congratulations to all our gymnasts - your accomplishments reflect your dedication to the sport and have made your school proud.Â

Hayley Colless to Compete at the 2024 Australian All Schools ChampionshipsÂ
Clayfield College’s rising star, Hayley Colless, has qualified for the prestigious 2024 Chemist Warehouse Australian All Schools Athletics Championships, set to take place from Friday 6 December to Sunday December 8, at the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre (QSAC).Â

Hayley secured her spot with an impressive showing at the Queensland All Schools Athletics Championships this past weekend, where she claimed silver in the 90m hurdles and a bronze in the 200m hurdles, setting a personal best in the process. Her season has been marked by steady progress and standout performances, underscoring her decision to move from Mackay to Clayfield College as a defining moment in her athletics journey.Â
For Hayley, who has committed to refining her technique and pushing her limits, the upcoming Australian All Schools Championships is both a reward and a new challenge - a chance to showcase her talent on a national stage.Â
