School Newsletter Term 3, Week 10

St. Margaret Mary, devoted servant of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, you were chosen to spread the message of Christ's boundless love and mercy. Through your deep faith and humility, you revealed the treasures of His Heart to the world.

We ask for your intercession today. Inspire us to grow in love and devotion to the Sacred Heart, to trust in God's infinite compassion, and to find peace in His divine will. May your example lead us to a deeper union with Jesus and a life filled with faith and grace.

St. Margaret Mary, pray for us.

Amen.

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to Term 4! We couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off the term than with our St. MM’s Feast Day Mass and celebration! October 16 marks the Feast Day of St. Margaret Mary of Alacoque the patron saint of devotees of the Sacred Heart, polio patients, and those grieving the loss of parents. Let us carry the spirit of St. Margaret Mary throughout this term, embracing her dedication and faith.

Our school celebrations spanned over two days, starting on Wednesday with our Feast Day Mass and continuing Friday, with stalls and games, and culminated in the STMM talent quest.

Congratulations to Brooklyn and Dougie in Year 2 for taking out the infants category, and to our Year 4 Dancers, this year’s senior winners: Gisele Hardy, Isabella Mclennan, Emily Hart, Lucia Cario, Miyah Saliba and Elka Killingbeck. A huge thank you to all our entrants for sharing their talents with the wider community.

Another big thank you to the teachers, particularly Miss Geraghty and to all the parent volunteers who assisted on the day. The funds raised will support the St Vincent de Paul's Christmas Appeal and the Catholic Education Foundation.

Staff Development Day

On Monday, our teachers dedicated the day to enhancing their knowledge and understanding of differentiation through online learning modules. To effectively cater to the diverse learning needs of our students, it is essential for teachers to differentiate their lessons, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to succeed.

As a team, we are exploring various models of differentiation and actively implementing the strategies presented in these modules. This collaborative approach will allow us to refine our teaching practices, learning environments, and content to better address the needs of all our students. One of the models we examined is the Williams Model. If you’re interested in learning more about it, I’ve linked an outline here for your reference.

Sydney Catholic Early Childhood Services SCECS

Thank you to the parents who arranged for their children to participate in the onsite service provided by SCECS on the Staff Development Day. The children who were here had a wonderful day, and the staff and I loved hearing their laughter and joy as they played outdoors. Your support makes a positive impact on our school community.
