Principal's News

Good morning Families,

I hope you enjoyed a happy and relaxing long weekend.

Today our Year 3/4 students are heading off to Lady Northcote Camp. We hope that their two days are filled with exciting adventures, great team building and wonderful memories.  We wish them safe travelling and the very best of fun!

Foundation Getting to Know You Chats

This week I begin welcoming our newest students; our 2027 Foundation students and their parents at our  ‘Getting to Know You Chats’. These sessions are a wonderful opportunity to meet our future students, learn a little about them, and help families prepare for a smooth start to school. No matter how often I’ve done these chats, it’s always exciting to welcome new families to our HR community.

We still have some vacancies in Foundation 2027 so applications are still being accepted and tours will resume in Term 3.

Last week we held a beautiful National Reconciliation Week assembly, reflecting this year’s powerful theme, ‘All In’. The assembly was a true testament to our commitment to learning, reflection and walking together towards a more just and reconciled future. Highlights of the assembly included our student written  ‘Acknowledgement of Country’ and the choir’s powerful rendition of Midnight Oil’s iconic anthem ‘Beds are Burning’. I thank Michaela for her work in developing our Acknowledgement of Country and the assembly, to Tom for working with the choir so that they could perform so wonderfully and to teachers for their excellent work in developing our students’ knowledge and understanding of the theme. Thanks too, to the parents and grandparent who joined us on this special occasion.

Green Day- Save the Date!

Our Student Representative Council (SRC) is excited to announce that HR is coming together to support a fantastic cause: raising funds and awareness for Muscular Dystrophy (MD). MD progressively weakens and breaks down muscles over time, making every day movements a challenge for those affected. Our goal is to help Kids with MD, to stay stronger for longer. To show our support we are hosting ‘Green Day’ on Friday 24 July. On this day, students will be encouraged to wear green and come with their craziest hair in exchange for a gold coin donation. Our SRC will also hold a down ball competition and a variation on the popular jelly bean guessing competition to keep the fun going. Amelie and Olivia have reached out in this newsletter to ask for your help to make this event a success. The SRC is working hard behind the scenes to organise the day, so keep an eye out for more details coming your way very soon!

Have a wonderful week,
