At the end of this term, your child will receive their Semester 1 Report. We would like to take this opportunity to explain how your child’s achievement in Mathematics is reported.
Under the Mathematics Version 2.0 curriculum, your child’s teacher assesses and reports against the Mathematics achievement standard as a whole. As was the case last year, this means that rather than receiving separate achievement scores for different areas of Mathematics (such as Number, Algebra, Measurement etc), you will see a single overall achievement score. This score reflects your child’s achievement against the year-level Mathematics achievement standard and encompasses learning across all areas of the Mathematics curriculum.
Here is an example of what it will look like.

You will also notice statements that indicate whether your child has demonstrated the specific learning criteria associated with the specific Mathematics units covered in Semester 1.
Here is an example of what this will look like.

Together, the overall achievement score and the specific learning statements provide an overview of how your child is progressing in Mathematics in Semester 1.
