Drama Eisteddfod

We are incredibly proud of our Stage 3 students who represented St Anthony’s at the SCS Drama Eisteddfod in Burwood last week. Their teamwork, confidence and creativity were on full display and they performed with true St Anthony’s spirit.

We are delighted to share that our students received two Highly Commended awards as well as an Encouragement Award. These achievements reflect their hard work, dedication, and willingness to support one another on and off the stage. A special thanks to Mrs McInness for preparing the students. Well done to all involved, you have made our school community very proud.

Public Speaking Semi Final

We are so proud of Aviva (Year 5) and Miranda (Year 6), who represented St Anthony’s with in recent public speaking semi finals. Their speeches were engaging, well‑structured and delivered with confidence. Both students demonstrated outstanding communication skills and incredible courage speaking in front of a large audience. Well done, Aviva and Miranda, your hard work, preparation and dedication truly shone!

Staff Development Days

A gentle reminder that Staff Development Day supervision is available for families who genuinely require care, particularly those who are working and unable to arrange alternative supervision for the day.

We truly appreciate the families who are able to keep their children at home on these days, it helps us ensure we can safely and effectively support the students who need to attend. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Our next two SDD are Friday 3 July and Monday 20 July. Supervision is from 8:30am till 3:30pm.

Semester 1 Reports

Over the past week, I have had the privilege of reading some of the STA first semester student reports. These reports, which will be sent home via Compass on Friday 19 June, reflect the progress each child has made in our core business, learning! I am extremely grateful to the teachers for their dedication and commitment to providing quality feedback to parents.

It is evident that the teachers have invested considerable time in understanding the children they have worked with throughout the semester. They have effectively communicated each child’s achievements and identified potential areas for future focus. Their insights and observations highlight the personal growth and academic development of each student, ensuring that parents are well-informed about their child's progress.

A reminder that Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences will take place in Week 10, from Monday 22 June to Wednesday 24 June. Please make a booking to speak with your child’s teacher via Compass.

Device Free Wednesdays at St Anthony’s

In support of strengthening our students’ learning habits, we have decided to make Wednesdays a device free day across the school. Current research continues to highlight the importance of pen and paper learning in developing deep thinking, memory and strong foundational skills.

Please note that students in Years 3 to Year 6 will still bring their Amadeus instrument and music book on this day so they can continue their ensemble and lesson commitments.

Thank you for your support as we continue to create balanced, purposeful learning experiences for all our students.
