Deputy Principal's Message

Semester Reports – Understanding Your Child’s Progress
At St Fidelis Primary School, Semester Reports are an important way we keep families informed and involved in their child’s learning journey. Reports are issued twice a year, in July and December, and provide valuable information about your child’s progress, achievements and growth across the curriculum.
This semester’s report will outline your child’s learning and achievement in line with the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority Victorian Curriculum, including both Learning Areas and Capabilities. Families will be able to see how their child is progressing against the expected achievement standards for their year level.
Reports will include progression points and achievement information across a range of learning areas, including:
- English
- Mathematics
- Health and Physical Education
- Humanities
- The Arts - Visual Arts
- Technologies
- Italian/Languages
- Personal and Social Capabilities
Reports provide an objective and balanced summary of what has been taught and assessed throughout the semester. At St Fidelis Primary School, reporting is an essential part of communicating the insights teachers gain from assessing student learning and helps foster strong learning-focused partnerships between:
- Teachers and students
- Teachers and parents/carers
- Parents/carers and students
While formal written reports are an important component of communication, they are one of many ways teachers share student progress throughout the year. Other practices include:
- Formative assessment feedback
- Summative assessment feedback
- Student, teacher and parent learning conversations
Reports will be available on the nForma portal from Monday, 22 June, ahead of our Learning Conversations on Thursday, 25 June.
We encourage families to take the time to read through their child’s report, celebrate successes, and discuss future learning goals together.
At St Fidelis Primary School, we value open communication and meaningful partnerships with families to support positive learning outcomes for every student.
Have a lovely week
