WELLBEING

FLU SEASON 2026 AND UNWELL STUDENTS
The 2026 flu season is now upon us. This is a timely reminder that we must prioritise the health and wellbeing of the students, staff, and families of St Joseph’s College.
We kindly remind you all of the importance of keeping your child home if they are experiencing symptoms of illness, such as: fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, fatigue, as well as any other signs of cold, flu, or COVID.
By keeping symptomatic students at home, we can help prevent the spread of illness within our community. This not only protects vulnerable individuals but also helps ensure consistent learning for everyone by minimising disruptions caused by widespread illness.
If your child is feeling unwell, we encourage you to consult with your healthcare provider and follow public health guidelines before sending them back to school.
Your cooperation and support play a crucial role in helping to keep the entire St Joseph’s College community healthy and safe.
PUSH-UP CHALLENGE
The College participated in the Push-Up Challenge on Thursday 18 June. This is a special event to encourage positive mental health and raise awareness of the 1 in 4 young Australians currently experiencing a mental health challenge.
More than 50 members of our community took on the challenge in support of Headspace Mildura. Two lucky students even won awesome prize packs when they put in the effort to push for better mental health.
Last year alone, over 160,000 young Australians turned to Headspace services across the country. St Joseph’s College is proud to support this essential support for young people in our community.
