House Launch Day!

Monday the 19th of February will be 'House Launch Day' at Ceres PS!

Students will be completing different house and team building activities in their house groups throughout the day and building up their house spirit.

Students in the 'Guliwan Kangaroos' will be able to dress up in green colours for the day and students in 'Lok Lok Eagles' will wear yellow colours.

It's going to be a great day so please get into the house spirit!

Our House Leaders are:

Lok-Lok - Mr M and Krystal

Guliwan - Mr James and Chelsea

Lok-Lok

It has been a great start to the year for the Lok-Lok Eagles. The Eagles have been working hard to promote the values required to obtain house tokens, with all the students displaying a great amount of determination, commitment, and enthusiasm. It has been great to see students recognising each other’s hard work and rewarding one another for it.  Students have been receiving tokens from their fellow peers for many different reasons. This week Noah in F/1 K rewarded a token to Miles for his great listening and Soccer skills in PE. This is just one of the many examples of bucket filling rewards students all around the school are receiving.  Eliza said she is loving the new sports houses because there has been a great atmosphere within the Lok-Lok Eagles, and she can’t wait until House Day because she wants to dress up in yellow to support her team and show her competitive spirit.    Keep up the great work Lok-Lok Eagles. We are off to a flying start, and we can’t wait to see you continue to soar through the rest of the term.   We can’t wait to get into the spirit on House Launch Day. Remember to deck out in your best yellow colours!

Guliwan

Our first 3 weeks back at school has been lots of promotion, bonding, and team spirit in the Guliwan Kangaroos squad. Students in and out of the class have been showing the Super 7's and for this effort our tokens have been piling up. Go team Guliwan!

Arlo F and Lola D were our team Captain's today in PE from 2-3BR representing the Guliwan Kangaroos. They selected peers with confidence and explained how these students demonstrated positive behaviours and respect toward their peers and Mrs. Sanders during our PE class. "Other students saw I was the leader and they filled my bucket." said Arlo. Lola said she likes being a leader, and she likes Kangaroos and the colour green so is happy to be on the Guliwan Kangaroo team.

2024 Sports Captain, Sam Farrer, mentioned when interviewed that we are racking up the points in Guliwan and are off to a strong start, the kangaroos have some great sports people. Sam is excited to versus the Lok-Lok staff team members and beat them is a game of basketball this year.

My favourite part of team spirit being displayed was during the Guliwan Kangaroos lunch gathering in the bus shelter, a couple of younger students started a "GULIWAN" "GULIWAN" "GULIWAN" "GULIWAN" chant. It was super Risk Taking and sure did get everyone up and about.

Stay tuned for Guliwan wrap up in the next Newsletter and let's go Roo’s!
