Congratulations on your success in sports

The school year has barely started and already we are congratulating our students and their sporting achievements across the Summer. Congratulations to all of our sports players.

Magic Eight Ball Mia

January 2024 saw Canberra host the 32nd Australian Junior Eight Ball Championship. Assembled among Australia's best young talent was Year 10 student Mia, representing Victoria with the additional honour of being the Victorian Team Vice Captain.

 

Chelt Girls are Saints

Founded in 1855, St Kilda Cricket Club boast a long and proud history of success. Aside from winning 52 flags across all grades in this time, St Kilda Cricket Club is also the home of arguably the greatest bowler of all time - Shane Warne.

 

Chelt.Sec girls, Ruby and Annabel, joined St Kilda Cricket Club history in December when they were selected to play in the first-ever female team. The Under 15 Girls took on Frankston, Richmond and Melbourne Uni in a three-day tournament. This is just the beginning for St Kilda Cricket Club as they strive to provide pathways for women's cricket.

Sol2023 | XVII Pacific Games

The Solomon Islands played host to the 2023 Pacific Games in December for the 27th occasion. Always the quiet achiever, our then Year 11 student Paes, selected for his home country of Nauru competed in Karate. Congratulations to Paes who finished the competition with a silver medal in the Men's Senior Kate Division for Karate.

Senior Rep Cricketers

Congratulations to the following students who all played representative cricket this Summer.

 

Darcy

Year 12 student Darcy, for being selected for Melbourne Cricket Club in the U/18 Premier Women’s Cricket competition in January. In her first time bowling for Melbourne this season, Darcy took a first-ball wicket. In a later over Darcy took her second wicket to finish the day with 2/20 off five overs. Melbourne had a great tournament and will play in the Grand Final against Carlton on 11th March. 

Lachie

Representing St Kilda Cricket Club, Year 11 student Lachie played in the U/16 Dowling Shield for the Victorian Premier Cricket League. This involved teams from all of the premier cricket clubs around the state. He played five games over two weeks. St Kilda finished the tournament with two wins and three losses. As a bowler, Lachie finished with eight wickets and three catches in the four games.

Charlie  & Millar 

Charlie (a.k.a. 'Buckets' - pictured below) and Millar both Year 12 students, represented Kingston Hawthorn in the Under 18's Kookaburra Premier Competition.

 

Buckets also volunteered his expertise as Assistant Coach to the U/12  SECA boys representative team during their two-week tournament, competing for the Keith Mitchell Shield.
