Discovering Melbourne Uni

Looking and working toward a brilliant future and visualising the possibilities.

This week our year 12 VCE students explored Melbourne University in a part social and informational start to their final year. The experience benefits our students socially, as well as being highly informative for future planning.

Melbourne University degrees have a different model to other universities where they offer only 9 undergraduate degrees; where they differ is that students must continue on to postgraduate level to specialise. While this means a qualification at Melbourne University is in general 1 year longer it does mean that the qualifications are more broadly accepted overseas.

Melbourne University courses also require high ATARs but students were reminded to complete their Access Melbourne SEAS Calculator (special consideration) to see how their personal circumstances could adjust the required ATARs to make entry into their courses achievable.

Our year 12s were also treated to a tour of the grounds then an hour of free time to soak up the gorgeous surroundings and amazing buildings.

It was an important day for understanding university life and some of the incredible tertiary study options once they leave Lalor North Secondary College.
