Welcome to 2024 - Assistant Principal
Welcome to another exciting year of learning at Lalor North.
Welcome to our new Year 7 students and their families.
We have just had our a special BBQ for our families at The Year 7 Meet the Teacher on Wednesday 21st February. Our students invited their families, primary school teachers and former principals to join us at this special event. The LNSC music program had their first performances to keep us entertained as they showcased the learning opportunities on offer at Lalor North. We enjoyed seeing our families at the BBQ.
We’d also like to take this opportunity to welcome our new staff to the college.
Olivia Monro – Director of Intervention (Literacy)
Carla Russo – Mathematics & Science teacher, Senior School Leader
Noure Chehade – Health, Physical Education & Art teacher
Our three new staff members are excited to be working with our students.
Olivia Monro has joined us as the Director of Literacy Intervention and English Domain leader. She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise, most recently from Eltham High School, where she was the Senior School Coordinator for two years. Prior to that, Olivia was the English Domain leader at both Hazel Glen College and Diamond Valley College. She is excited about working with students and staff to develop students' literacy skills. In her free time, Olivia enjoys hiking, reading and gardening.
Noure Chehade was formerly Head of Secondary School and the Arts Domain leader at an independent college in the northern suburbs. She graduated from Victoria University with majors in Physical Education and Arts. Noure also holds a Bachelor of Education (P-12) and an Advanced Diploma in Sports Development. With vast experience in both teaching and leadership roles, Noure is driven by a passion for fostering positive change and growth within school communities. She is excited to return to her roots in the northern suburbs and is eager to contribute to the progress of LNSC and give back to the community.
Carla Russo joins us as our Year 12 Engagement Leader. She is a Science and senior Maths teacher, with over five years of experience teaching at the VCE level in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. She has previously worked in Student Coordination and Engagement roles and looks forward to working with our wonderful students at Lalor North Secondary College. Carla believes in the power of education and that every student can succeed in whatever path they choose. When Carla isn’t teaching, she likes playing video games, drinking coffee, and trying out new recipes in the kitchen!
Students - please keep an ear out for Lunch Clubs. I hear there are some great workshops happening and I look forward to sharing some photos in future newsletters. Here are just a couple of the clubs on at the moment.
