Cooking with Dr Buti

Dr Tony Buti MLA is the Member for Armadale and Minister for Citizenship and Multicultural Interests and has been on a journey to discover WA’s culinary diversity, learning traditional recipes from different cultures through his multicultural cooking video series.

In this instalment he is joined by Chris Tallentire MLA at Alliance Francaise de Perth to cook the signature French desert Tarte Tatin. The tart is said to have been the creation of the elderly sisters (Demoiselles), Caroline and Stephanie Tatin, who were running a restaurant and later a hotel in the Loire Valley. According to historical record, the tart was created around the 1880s but grew quickly in popularity by the time the sisters opened their hotel in 1894.
