Numeracy

This year, at Sunshine Heights Primary, the Year 1 classes will be using the Explicit Maths Program (EMP) to guide their daily numeracy lessons. EMP is a high quality and evidence informed mathematics program focused on the explicit teaching of mathematics. The program includes daily review of past learning, fluency skills and regular assessment to track student progress.

The Year 2 classes will be guided by the Ochre scope and sequence, another curriculum aligned and evidence- based program. This will also include daily review of past learning, fluency skills and regular assessment to track student progress.
