School Crossing News

Please ensure all those who drop off /pick up your children are aware of these rules (eg partners, grandparents, relatives, siblings, friends).  

School Crossing Safety

For the safety of your children when dropping off and collecting from school:

• Please use the School Crossings when crossing the road  - both are manned before and after school. One is on Karoo Road (out the front of the school) and one is on Murrindal Drive (near the Karoo Rd/Murrindal Dve roundabout).
• Please note the speed limit around our school is 40 
• If the Crossing Supervisor is preparing to help children across the road, they will hold out a bright orange STOP sign to stop traffic.  PLEASE STOP YOUR CAR BEFORE THE WHITE LINES and wait for pedestrians to be clear of the road before moving off.
• If waiting as a pedestrian to cross the road at the School Crossing, wait behind the lines and follow the supervisor's instructions.
• Always show respect to our Crossing Supervisors - they are employed by Knox Council to uphold the road rules, always see that our students are helped safely across the road and are valued members of the Karoo Community.   

Car Parking rules

There is ample parking in the surrounding streets, just a short walk from the school. For the safety of your children when dropping off and collecting from school:

· OBSERVE the 2min parking time limit where marked (do not leave your car).

· DO NOT use the childcare centre car park for school parking.

· DO NOT park across driveways or in bus zones under any circumstances.

· DO NOT double park.

· ALWAYS USE school crossings when crossing the road.

· EXTREME WEATHER DAYS—allow extra time for your journey as traffic around the school is heavier and demand for parking higher.
