Outside School Hours Care

Dear Families,

We are thrilled to officially introduce our new Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) service, Banmira Care. Our aim is to provide a safe, engaging and supportive environment for our students after school.

Our program will commence with offering care Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. With intentions to expand to Thursday and Friday afternoons in the near future.

The program will begin at 3:00pm and conclude at 5:45pm each day. This service is fully funded by the Department of Education, meaning there is no cost to families to access the program.

Outside School Hours Care Manager

Hi everyone, my name is Lauren Daws, and I am the Manager of our new OSHC service, Banmira Care.

I have worked at Banmira Specialist School for quite a number of years in the role of Education Support, having recently returned from family leave and taking on my new position.

I am a mum to two girls who keep me pretty busy. I enjoy camping, spending time with my girls and staying active.

My favourite colour is purple, and my favourite food is pasta.

My favourite book from my childhood is a tie between The BFG and Matilda, both by the author Roald Dahl.

Jessica Benton

Outside School Hours Assistant Manager

Hi, my name is Jess Benton, and I am the Assistant Manager of Banmira Care, our new OSHC service. I am married to my wonderful husband, Brad and we share three gorgeous kids together, Oscar, 12, Jordy, 8, and Darcy, 5.

For 11 years, I was an IT support and AV technician at a local school before enrolling into Swinburne Online for my Bachelor of Education (Primary). I spent last year at St George’s Rd Primary in an Education Support role and working for a third party OSHC service around the Greater Shepparton region.

My hobbies include reading, camping, listening to music, and spending time with my family and friends.

My favourite colour is purple, my favourite food is pasta, and my favourite childhood book would be Charlotte's Web by E.B. White.
