Sport

Welcome back to The College for what promises to be a fantastic year of sport in 2025! I am excited to see our students and community embrace the opportunities ahead. For details about all individual and team sporting opportunities in Term 1, please refer to the 2025 Sport Handbook. Final sign-ups are now open for the 2025 New Zealand Cricket tour - spots are limited, don't miss out! Register using the link below.
Basketball
Together with our Head of Basketball, Kira Ryan, we are pleased to be offering a community basketball coaching course led by Rob Coulter from Basketball Victoria.
Key details:
- Date: March 6th
- Duration: 90 minutes (45 minutes theory, 45 minutes court time), after school.
- Location: Sport Centre
- Cost: $20 per person
Participants must be 14 years or older. If turning 14 this year, students would need to have a good knowledge of the game. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone passionate about basketball and keen on upskilling. Please send your expressions of interest to kryan@hamiltoncollege.vic.edu.au
To start the year well, students are reminded to attend all scheduled training sessions in the correct uniform in Term 1. Consistent attendance is crucial for skill development and plays a vital role in building teamwork, effectiveness and culture. Senior students, as role models, are encouraged to set a positive example for younger students through their dedication and leadership both on and off the field. Please be aware that students must have at least 85% attendance at training sessions to be eligible for sports awards.

Netball
Thanks to the students who have signed up for Term 1 netball. We will have 4 senior teams. Teams will be entered to the association (HNA) this week. If any parents are able to help with being a manager (scorer), or umpire (we really need two more people) please urgently contact me via email: jogle@hamiltoncollege.vic.edu.au. A Working with Children Check must be provided.
The HNA will advise a draw once they collate all the entries. Once the HNA have processed all the entries they will open their portal for parents to complete the online consent forms. Payment through Netball Connect (the app is easiest) will also open. This is controlled by the Association, but the forms and payments should be able to be completed by parents by the end of next week. I would advise trying to complete them on Thursday 13th or Friday 14th February. If all parents could complete these on these dates that would be greatly appreciated.

Games begin on the 15 February. There is no game on the long weekend.
