AUTHOR VISIT: SOLLI RAPHAEL - SLAM POETRY

Solli Raphael, a slam poet, visited the school on Thursday 20 February. The students participated in a workshop and two students have written poems about their experience.

When Solli Raphael arrived at our school

He got so much attention it was so cool

He was very sweet

He's a good person to greet

He showed us that poetry truly can rule!

The Poet That Came to Our School

Last week Soli Raphael came to our school

Armed with poems and books that are really cool

Drawing us all into a world of poetry

It was tons of fun for everyone, including me

It was an excellent time

Filled with rhyme

An inspiration to all

When he talked to us in the school hall

His use of poetry really inspired me

To be the best writer I could be

I want to thank Solli for coming to our school

This time and experience was super fun and cool.

NAPLAN

Students in Year 3 and Year 5 will be completing NAPLAN between Wednesday 12 March to Monday 24 March 2025.

NAPLAN assesses literacy and numeracy which are important skills that each child needs to succeed in school and life. The NAPLAN tests are designed to help us make sure students are on track with their literacy and numeracy development. Students in Year 3 and Year 5 participate in NAPLAN tests for reading, writing, conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy.

STUDENT ABSENCES - SICK & TRAVEL

This is a gentle reminder that when your child is at home due to illness or away due to travel, they are not required to complete any schoolwork. In accordance with St Aidan's school policy, teachers are not obligated to send work home for students who are unwell. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Warm regards,
