Dear Parents,

POLICE YOUTH LIASON OFFICER VISIT

This week students in Years 3 to 6 received a visit from our Police Youth Liaison Officers as part of our ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of our students. This visit focused on the important topic of digital safety.

In today’s digital world, our children are growing up in an environment where online interactions are a part of daily life. While the internet offers many educational and social benefits, it is crucial that our students understand how to navigate it safely and responsibly.

During the visit our Police Youth Liaison Officers covered key areas such as:

  • Understanding online privacy and the importance of safeguarding personal information.

  • Recognising and responding to cyberbullying.

  • Navigating social media platforms safely.

  • Identifying and avoiding potential online threats.

  • The importance of not being part of a group message or group chat.

We believe that educating our students about digital safety is essential in helping them become informed and responsible digital citizens. We also encourage our parents to engage in conversations with your children about their online experiences and reinforce the safety tips they learn at school.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership in creating a safe and nurturing environment for our students.

MUSICAL AUDITIONS

I would like to thank Miss Siapkas and Miss Hinds for all of their work in organising the auditions for our school musical. A huge thank you to Iris and Brad from the Sydney Catholic Schools Creative Team who came along yesterday as part of the panel for the auditions. The students did an amazing job and the creative team were blown away by the talent we have here at St Aidan's.

NEW PICNIC BENCHES

A huge thank you to all of the dads who gave up their valuable time to put together our new picnic benches. We also have some new basketball rings. If there are any parents who could spare some time putting them together it would be greatly appreciated.

OPEN DAY - NEXT TUESDAY 4TH MARCH

We have our Open Day NEXT Tuesday 4th March 9-10am & 4-5.30pm. We are continuing to advertise this day in our local community. You will see advertisements at our local shopping centres, Pre-school centres and at the front of our school. Thank you to all families for handing out flyers advertising our Open Day. Please spread the word about our amazing school to the broader community. We are looking forward to many new visitors coming to our Open Day.

May this year be one of GOODNESS, TRUTH and BEAUTY.

Take care and God Bless.

Kind regards,

Rachel Baker
