Sustainability

If you have wandered into our school grounds recently you may have noticed some new nesting boxes up in our trees.

Last year we were lucky enough to obtain a grant from Victorian Junior Landcare and Biodiversity Grant to improve the biodiversity of our school by making some nesting boxes for local species.

Past sustainability leaders came up with the idea and we were successful in our application.

This awarded us with funds to learn about the boxes through an incursion and create the boxes with the help of Galen College technology classes.

During the holidays one of our wonderful parents put the boxes up in the trees in our school grounds.  Thanks so much to Mick Everitt for installing the boxes.

Now it's time for students to look out for wildlife using our boxes and observing them making their new and safe homes for their babies.
