NSWPSSA Athletics
Last week, Chase Berry represented Polding at the NSWPSSA Athletic Championships. He was competing in the 200m race. He ran a great race, and I'm sure he could hear his Year 4 Class cheering from Gunnedah. Unfortunately, he did not make the finals, but what a huge accomplishment to make it so far.
Spotlight: From the Stage to the National Pool!
Banjo Fitzgerald's Unbelievable Sporting Double
What a huge couple of weeks for Banjo Fitzgerald! This remarkable talent finished his run on the Mary Poppins stage and walked straight off into the pool to compete against the nation's best.
This week, Banjo represented his state at the prestigious School Sport Australia Swimming Championships in Ballarat, competing against the fastest young swimmers from across the country—an outstanding achievement in itself.
His results were nothing short of incredible:
Sunday: 50m Butterfly Final
Banjo qualified for the national final and powered through the race, securing an incredible 6th place overall in Australia!
Tuesday: 100m Butterfly Final
He qualified for his second national final and delivered a truly impressive performance. Banjo didn't just compete; he smashed his previous time, shaving a massive 3 seconds off his preliminary swim to record a huge personal best (PB).
Banjo, we are immensely proud of your hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship.

Schools are invited to nominate students of a proficient skill level to the Diocesan Basketball and Tennis Trials in Tamworth on Friday 5th December 2025. A Diocesan team and individuals will be selected to represent the Armidale Diocese at the Polding Trials in Tamworth in February, 2026.
This is for Year 5 students and exceptional Year 4 students. As a school we are only able to nominate 5 basketball players and 3 tennis players so we may need to hold trials at the school.
Travel to the event will be parents responsibility.
Please complete the form below if you wish to have your child considered for selection. Nominations are due FRIDAY 7TH NOVEMBER .
